It is recommended prior to installing any automotive electronics that the negative battery terminal be disconnected. Remove and replace your existing radio by removing the radio “bezel” dash surround trim held in with only retaining clips. Once removed, this will allow access to the 4 screws that secure the radio to the dash. Very happy. The install was fairly easy and everything works except for one thing possibly it wasn’t working before and that is the green phone button on the steering wheel. It doesn’t seem to do anything when you press it but it’s OK because all of the phone features still work.

Very easy plug and play OEM radio. The 8′ display looks amazing. So glad I purchased it with Navigation. Some places I drive lose Wi-Fi so my WAYZ and google maps don’t load. Great product and will be installing JBL amp and subwoofer to pair with radio. Better than the little three inch box display that didnt have all the cool features I have with my new radio. Worth all the money I spent and would do it again. Its a no brainer. I also installed the aftermarket camera. No too bad and didnt have to drill as suggested. Just used 3M tape and drilled into the pastic licence lights. Great product as well and the entire screen is on while I back up. VR Mark from VA

I received and installed it yesterday, and it’s better than I hoped. The screen looks better, feels better and is much more responsive. ALL factory features are still intact and somehow, some features that weren’t working before are working now. Like the automatic breaking if you’re about to run into something. I don’t know how or why, but it works now. Also, the feature that automatically turns on the vented/heated seats and heated steering wheel when you start the vehicle works now. It didn’t before. As far as Android Auto and CarPlay, they work amazingly. I drove my vehicle for work today, navigating to several places I’ve never been, and it worked like a dream. It was the most comfortable navigation experience I’ve had in this vehicle since I bought it. They even offered to buy my old unit for $200, which takes a little bit of the sting out of the purchase. I’ll be mailing it tomorrow. I recommend this unit/company 100%.
One thing I’d like to point out concerning the installation, if you have a toggle shifter like mine, in order to replace the old USB hub, you’ll want to pop the top off your shifter. (You can do it with your hands) This will reveal a Tork 20 or 25 screw that you can remove and then lift the handle assembly off the post. This will allow you to remove the shifter cover trim so you can get to the screws for the USB hub. It’s easier than it sounds. Maybe 2 minutes more?

Highly recommended, my 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited with 75k miles has been brought into the 2020’s with this upgrade and feels like a new car!
Was having a series of start, navigation, compass, A/C, and radio issues, was considering new car but came across this upgrade. Apple Car Play was big part of my decision to go with this. Package arrived in a couple weeks, took me a couple hours to install, let it sit overnight and by the next morning everything was working great and all the prior issues disappeared. A few features took a few trips to reappear (side mirror auto tilt in reverse was one), but the retrofit interface worked great too and all heated wheel/seat and backup camera controls are working as expected. Touchscreen, visuals, and UI huge improvement over the original 2014!

FedEx tracking of the shipment was a pain.
Infotainment support was great when we thought it was lost they were willing to speed up shipping another one. FedEx finally, about 4 days LATE delivered the package.
Installation was very straightforward I had a little trouble installing the USB cubby change on a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Because of that Mickey mouse transmission shifter. I had to work at it to get the old USB cubby out.
Once the unit was turned on and then left off for a while everything started working the next time I turned it on.

I expect to continue to own my 2014 Grand Cherokee for some time yet. The radio in the vehicle reached its life limit. With 3G cell coverage no longer available there was no way to get updates anymore among other issues. Getting a modern twist to the radio like Apple CarPlay has given the car new life. I love the updated radio.

I bought the 2014-2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee GPS Navigation 8.4 4C NAV UAQ Radio with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto – 2018-2021 / UAQ (3D NAV with Sirius Travel/Traffic Plus) / and a new bezel.
First off, the bezel controls did not match my controls, several were missing. No big deal because I could remove the one off my old bezel and install it on the new bezel. The adapter cable was also missing from the kit. The screen had all the right attachments and once I found the two extra plugs it worked 90%. There is one cable with a blue end in the harness that seems to not be used? Additionally, the heater controls did not work. But NAV and Sirius worked, as did the USB ports. The unit came on line and said RAM… then after three starts and stops it came up saying Jeep. Once it said Jeep Sirius stopped working and the USB ports stopped working (both front and rear). I provided a vin number and called customer service and they told me it was 100% plug and play. It is not. Never got an email or call back. It finally worked after I used a scanner to reset the BCU and all the codes,

This upgrade to my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee is terrific. Relatively easy to install but did take 4-5 hours for it to recognize it was in my vehicle and work properly. Once it did, though, it worked flawlessly. Definitely love having carplay and all of the other features. Worth every penny – the old Uconnect system was the only downside of my Jeep and now I’m happy to keep it for many years to come! Be aware that Uconnect will no longer be available to you with this upgrade into this 2017 model. Not a deal breaker for me.

It’s exactly as described, and the install was easy! I had a lot of trouble with the bottom screws on the USB hub (2014 GC) but otherwise it was super simple. Took 1 sleep cycle to get everything working properly -My heated/vented seats work fine with the retro-fit adapter too. Now I’m looking for excuses to get back in the car. Android auto is a HUGE upgrade for in-car tech. I was blown away by the screen quality improvement on first start. Great product

Got my new radio, usb interface, and 4C retrofit a month and a half after ordering it. Hard to blame infotainment.com as shipping times for everything is slow and exacerbated by delaminating screens. When I got it I immediately installed it myself. It’s worth mentioning 2014 Grand Cherokees that have the "toggle" shifter not the traditional one like in newer JGCs proved to be a pain. You cannot rotate the bezel to gain easy access to the two screws. You have minimal access and it’s possible but you’ll get scratched up good. Once installed everythink worked as intended, no need for the car to sleep or anything. I even have Android Auto in a car I never had it in before!

Just installed it, very straightforward and easy. Initially claimant control did not come up, talked to online support. They said it may take a few on and off cycles to fully sync. Sure enough after I closed the tech chat system was synced and all worked. CarPlay, climate control, radio, Sirius,backup Camera.

I was tired of the small radio that was so simple and had no options available with more recent cars radios. I found out of this radio by seeing an old wrangler with a huge touch screen, the person must have had a mechanic install because I saw an infotainment sticker on the window. I quickly searched for it online and at first I was scared of the price due to wanting apple carPlay and needing a new bedel but I just had to do the upgrade. I did the installment myself in which it was fairly easy to do just some wires that were hard to remove. After the installment, everything was working amazing with the car computer too. I am very happy with the outcome and I recommend this upgrade to any one who wants to enjoy the modern technologies.

Rear camera looks even sharper now, and I love having CarPlay. The best part is nobody could ever tell it’s not the system that came with my truck.

Just installed the 2018 radio upgrade in my 2015 Grand Cherokee. This makes a HUGE difference. I upgraded to get CarPlay. Didn’t expect the screen to be so much better for everything. Even the backup camera is clearer. The install videos were crucial. Made it very easy.
I was thinking about selling the Jeep to get another car with CarPlay. You just saved me $50,000. I love my car now!

I purchased this for my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit originally just for the Android Auto, but found that the interface appearance and the screen is much nicer to boot! Two important notes to make the install go smoother:
1) If your shift stalk is square like mine, the console will not just swivel out of the way as it does in the video. I almost broke my console until I realized that I could simply pop off the top of my shifter, then remove one screw and pull off the shifter knob. At that point I could easily remove the console top and access the first two screws.
2) READ and UNDERSTAND the instructions taped to the screen. It says to make sure that you get the SXM icon and if you don’t, shut down for 5 minutes and try again. The SXM icon means that the programming has finished. I assumed that that instruction was just for SXM programming which I don’t care about, so I ignored. I was subsequently frustrated when the unit booted up with the Chrysler logo instead of the Jeep logo, there was no audio, no backup camera, no automatic HVAC, and no ventilated seat control. Having been already frustrated in getting the console top off, I gave up for the night and planned on calling support in the morning. But I quickly returned to the project about 20 minutes later as I just can’t quit. I figured support would want me to check the connections, so I planned on removing the unit and verifying all of the connections. To my surprise, as I turned on the car, the audio came on and the Jeep logo appeared. I started going through the screens and noticed that all of the functionality was there. The radio had finished programming and the reboot activated the appropriate functionality. So the key to all of this, wait for the SXM icon like they say, regardless of if you will be using SXM or not!!!

When we bought our 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee the dealer had to search for one, and told us that he found one with the 8.4" screen. We ended up getting the standard 7" screen and were told that there was no way to have the larger one installed by the dealer. When I found "Infotainment" I must admit I was leery, especially considering the price, although the upgrade from Jeep would have been about $600 more.
This product is exactly as advertised! I’m not an electronics guy, and after watching the video a few times I got it installed myself in about 20 minutes. The hardest part of the install was getting the vents out of the old bezel and into the new bezel. I would strongly recommend that you purchase a set of plastic pry bars for interior work (I got mine from Amazon for about $8) to pry the bezel out. Once you get the bezel removed, it is exactly like the video- remove the 4 screws, unplug the wires, plug them in, and you’re ready to go.
I agree with losing some of the "U-Connect" stuff, but I wouldn’t have paid for it after the free first year anyway. The "Car Play" feature works perfectly, the larger backup camera is great, and so is the Navigation feature. Plus, it is much easier to read everything on the larger screen. So far I’m extremely satisfied.

The radio itself is much nicer then the previous version. The graphics are more clear back-up cam has a much better picture and the apple car play is great actually works better then it did in my gmc that i had. Never a issues with the car-play connectivity. Cons you loose all features of unconnect including apps such a off road pages which i thought was a cool feature and the ability to use sos or the unconnect app to start your vehicle. If you have a trail subscription with sirius they will transfer over your music subscription and the travel link but the traffic will not transfer over as to the new radio uses traffic plus and the old radio did not. Over all i would recommend the radio and it looks way nicer then the other one did

Installation was easy. Just watch the video. Apple Carplay is amazing especially if you have a jailbroken Iphone. It will allow you to add other applications to Carplay. The only downside is the loss of the remote start and unlocks via the Uconnect app.

The installation was a breeze after watching their YouTube video. You will not be able to register for SiriusXM guardian services. The vin number will not be in their system as a vehicle eligible for that service. So long as you’re okay with that, the Apple CarPlay, android auto, and the way nicer nav system are awesome to have. It makes my 2017 grand Cherokee the same as the 2018 models. Highly recommended.

This is an excellent upgrade. I installed the UAS (no navigation) model in my 2015 Overland. The installation was easy and took about 1 hour to complete and Android Auto works perfectly and looks great on the high resolution display.
Infotainment provided fast shipping and everything was packaged very well. I’d recommend them and this radio to anyone that’s interested in upgrading.

One of the few bummers about my 2016 Grand Cherokee when I got it was the non-inclusion and uncertainty of Android Audio functionality on the stock VP4 UConnect system. Jeep has basically said it will never happen, so you could imagine my excitement when I heard I could swap the head unit and use all the existing wiring and bezels. The YouTube installation video provided by Infotainment was all I needed and I had the swap completed within two hours. I’m very happy with the upgrade and would recommend this to anyone who is looking to use Android Auto or Apple Carplay in their older vehicle since Jeep doesn’t seem to care about their previous model year systems.

I received and installed it yesterday, and it’s better than I hoped. The screen looks better, feels better and is much more responsive. ALL factory features are still intact and somehow, some features that weren’t working before are working now. Like the automatic breaking if you’re about to run into something. I don’t know how or why, but it works now. Also, the feature that automatically turns on the vented/heated seats and heated steering wheel when you start the vehicle works now. It didn’t before. As far as Android Auto and CarPlay, they work amazingly. I drove my vehicle for work today, navigating to several places I’ve never been, and it worked like a dream. It was the most comfortable navigation experience I’ve had in this vehicle since I bought it. They even offered to buy my old unit for $200, which takes a little bit of the sting out of the purchase. I’ll be mailing it tomorrow. I recommend this unit/company 100%.
One thing I’d like to point out concerning the installation, if you have a toggle shifter like mine, in order to replace the old USB hub, you’ll want to pop the top off your shifter. (You can do it with your hands) This will reveal a Tork 20 or 25 screw that you can remove and then lift the handle assembly off the post. This will allow you to remove the shifter cover trim so you can get to the screws for the USB hub. It’s easier than it sounds. Maybe 2 minutes more?

Was having a series of start, navigation, compass, A/C, and radio issues, was considering new car but came across this upgrade. Apple Car Play was big part of my decision to go with this. Package arrived in a couple weeks, took me a couple hours to install, let it sit overnight and by the next morning everything was working great and all the prior issues disappeared. A few features took a few trips to reappear (side mirror auto tilt in reverse was one), but the retrofit interface worked great too and all heated wheel/seat and backup camera controls are working as expected. Touchscreen, visuals, and UI huge improvement over the original 2014!

Infotainment support was great when we thought it was lost they were willing to speed up shipping another one. FedEx finally, about 4 days LATE delivered the package.
Installation was very straightforward I had a little trouble installing the USB cubby change on a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Because of that Mickey mouse transmission shifter. I had to work at it to get the old USB cubby out.
Once the unit was turned on and then left off for a while everything started working the next time I turned it on.

I bought the 2014-2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee GPS Navigation 8.4 4C NAV UAQ Radio with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto – 2018-2021 / UAQ (3D NAV with Sirius Travel/Traffic Plus) / and a new bezel.
First off, the bezel controls did not match my controls, several were missing. No big deal because I could remove the one off my old bezel and install it on the new bezel. The adapter cable was also missing from the kit. The screen had all the right attachments and once I found the two extra plugs it worked 90%. There is one cable with a blue end in the harness that seems to not be used? Additionally, the heater controls did not work. But NAV and Sirius worked, as did the USB ports. The unit came on line and said RAM… then after three starts and stops it came up saying Jeep. Once it said Jeep Sirius stopped working and the USB ports stopped working (both front and rear). I provided a vin number and called customer service and they told me it was 100% plug and play. It is not. Never got an email or call back. It finally worked after I used a scanner to reset the BCU and all the codes,

This upgrade to my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee is terrific. Relatively easy to install but did take 4-5 hours for it to recognize it was in my vehicle and work properly. Once it did, though, it worked flawlessly. Definitely love having carplay and all of the other features. Worth every penny – the old Uconnect system was the only downside of my Jeep and now I’m happy to keep it for many years to come! Be aware that Uconnect will no longer be available to you with this upgrade into this 2017 model. Not a deal breaker for me.

Got my new radio, usb interface, and 4C retrofit a month and a half after ordering it. Hard to blame infotainment.com as shipping times for everything is slow and exacerbated by delaminating screens. When I got it I immediately installed it myself. It’s worth mentioning 2014 Grand Cherokees that have the "toggle" shifter not the traditional one like in newer JGCs proved to be a pain. You cannot rotate the bezel to gain easy access to the two screws. You have minimal access and it’s possible but you’ll get scratched up good. Once installed everythink worked as intended, no need for the car to sleep or anything. I even have Android Auto in a car I never had it in before!

I found out of this radio by seeing an old wrangler with a huge touch screen, the person must have had a mechanic install because I saw an infotainment sticker on the window. I purchased this for my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit originally just for the Android Auto, but found that the interface appearance and the screen is much nicer to boot! Two important notes to make the install go smoother:
1) If your shift stalk is square like mine, the console will not just swivel out of the way as it does in the video. I almost broke my console until I realized that I could simply pop off the top of my shifter, then remove one screw and pull off the shifter knob. At that point I could easily remove the console top and access the first two screws.
2) READ and UNDERSTAND the instructions taped to the screen. It says to make sure that you get the SXM icon and if you don’t, shut down for 5 minutes and try again. The SXM icon means that the programming has finished. I assumed that that instruction was just for SXM programming which I don’t care about, so I ignored. I was subsequently frustrated when the unit booted up with the Chrysler logo instead of the Jeep logo, there was no audio, no backup camera, no automatic HVAC, and no ventilated seat control. Having been already frustrated in getting the console top off, I gave up for the night and planned on calling support in the morning. But I quickly returned to the project about 20 minutes later as I just can’t quit. I figured support would want me to check the connections, so I planned on removing the unit and verifying all of the connections. To my surprise, as I turned on the car, the audio came on and the Jeep logo appeared. I started going through the screens and noticed that all of the functionality was there. The radio had finished programming and the reboot activated the appropriate functionality. So the key to all of this, wait for the SXM icon like they say, regardless of if you will be using SXM or not!!!

When we bought our 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee the dealer had to search for one, and told us that he found one with the 8.4" screen. We ended up getting the standard 7" screen and were told that there was no way to have the larger one installed by the dealer. When I found "Infotainment" I must admit I was leery, especially considering the price, although the upgrade from Jeep would have been about $600 more.
This product is exactly as advertised! I’m not an electronics guy, and after watching the video a few times I got it installed myself in about 20 minutes. The hardest part of the install was getting the vents out of the old bezel and into the new bezel. I would strongly recommend that you purchase a set of plastic pry bars for interior work (I got mine from Amazon for about $8) to pry the bezel out. Once you get the bezel removed, it is exactly like the video- remove the 4 screws, unplug the wires, plug them in, and you’re ready to go.
I agree with losing some of the "U-Connect" stuff, but I wouldn’t have paid for it after the free first year anyway. The "Car Play" feature works perfectly, the larger backup camera is great, and so is the Navigation feature. Plus, it is much easier to read everything on the larger screen. So far I’m extremely satisfied.

The graphics are more clear back-up cam has a much better picture and the apple car play is great actually works better then it did in my gmc that i had. Never a issues with the car-play connectivity. Cons you loose all features of unconnect including apps such a off road pages which i thought was a cool feature and the ability to use sos or the unconnect app to start your vehicle. If you have a trail subscription with sirius they will transfer over your music subscription and the travel link but the traffic will not transfer over as to the new radio uses traffic plus and the old radio did not. Over all i would recommend the radio and it looks way nicer then the other one did

The vin number will not be in their system as a vehicle eligible for that service. So long as you’re okay with that, the Apple CarPlay, android auto, and the way nicer nav system are awesome to have. This is an excellent upgrade. I installed the UAS (no navigation) model in my 2015 Overland. The installation was easy and took about 1 hour to complete and Android Auto works perfectly and looks great on the high resolution display.
