Rated 5 out of 5After years of hating the buggy, low spec IOR infotainment system in my 2019 Sierra, with no viable aftermarket alternatives, I ordered and installed the upgrade kit from Infotainment.com. Overall, I’m very pleased with how it worked out. This isn’t intended to be a comprehensive review, but there are a couple of things worth mentioning for anyone considering this.
The kit is essentially a box of OEM parts: display, HMI module, media hub, roof antenna (optional to add Sirius radio), high def backup camera, plus some custom harnesses and cables to integrate it all. Installation is not particularly difficult if you’ve done this sort of work before. There are, however, no printed instructions, or even a downloadable PDF that you can print and refer to. You’ll need to watch the installation video on the website, maybe several times. I missed a step and had a connector that I had no clue what to do with, but their Support guy Mason quickly set me straight. Once everything was connected and buttoned up, I now have:Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
GPS Navigation
HD Radio
Satellite radio
High Def Backup Camera
A radio that reliably finds and Bluetooth connects to my phone every time. So, a couple things to note…
The video was a bit vague about the HMI module bracket. It’s not the same as the one used by the 3 Plus system you’re upgrading to. The new module’s form factor is a bit different and, while it sort of fits, it doesn’t engage the retaining clips and would rattle if not secured. I was able to fix this by sliding it in with a piece of firm 1/2" closed cell foam behind it. It stays put now without the clips. They do provide a part number for the correct bracket but replacing it seemed more trouble that it was worth since I couldn’t even see the fasteners that held it in place.
The HD backup camera and its bracket are a bit different that the stock parts. The original bracket’s screw tabs are on the same plane; the new ones are different and a longer screw is needed. I ended up turning a shouldered spacer to compensate for the difference and ensure that the camera aligned correctly once the screws were tightened. There was also a bit of a gap around the new camera lens. Not a huge deal as the inside of the tailgate was already pretty dusty, but stuff like that bothers me. I was able to fabricate a foam and rubber gasket to seal this up.
Once it was fired up for the first time the display showed the dreaded "Theft Locked" message. After a quick call to the Infotainment guys, an OBD Genie was overnighted to me. That quickly unlocked the unit and all was good. This is a fairly pricey upgrade, but I really like the truck otherwise and intend to keep it for a while. This makes it a lot easier to live with.

Rated 5 out of 5I installed this myself following the video and I also installed the Intellihaul 2.0 trailering camera system along with it and ALL works perfectly so far! It’s a true plug and play system ..of course the factory connectors giving the most issues (fat Hands). The New features are awesome especially the navigation…at the end of the day it’s a little work but well worth it!

Rated 5 out of 5Expensive upgrade but it’s done the right way. It’s just like it came from factory with iou radio. Personally the install was pretty straight forward and easy for me as well. I still have my wifi and all the features I had before. The HD camera is MUCH better then the cheaper style that came in the truck.

Rated 5 out of 5After getting saddled with the "IOR" system from Chevy I knew that I had to do something. I’m so glad that I found the infotainment site. I had to buy the most expensive
system offered but it’s worth every penny. Everything works exactly as advertised if not better. I lost absolutely no functions and gained so much. Since I used the listed authorized installer don’t put any worth in my rating there. I will say that the installer said that running the new backup camera game them some issues. I’m happy and feel that I got my money’s worth.Helpful (0) Unhelpful (0) You have already voted this comment -

Rated 4 out of 5After installation, the unit was "Theft Locked" (not happy about that) useless system until unlocked.
Then I called support and they said they’d send me an OBDGenie to force unlock it.
Welp this is where i didn’t give a "5" star rating… its going to be a full week and almost a half till I can even use this new upgrade because of some screw up of the "Expedited shipping" that the first order got cancelled somehow 5 hours later and shortly recreated. Waited 2 business days, and no tracking update. Called again, and another order was placed again for the same product. Supposed to be "Expedited Shipping" and I wont be receiving that till another 5 days from now apparently. I wish for better (some sort of discount or something) with the amount of money this system upgrade costs…
Hope someone else has better luck than I did.Helpful (0) Unhelpful (0) You have already voted this comment -
